Your's is a COP ignition system that gets its signal from the cam sensor. Ignition base timing is factory set at 10°BTDC and, I believe, is not adjustable. Unless you can move the cam sensor (not really). You may be able to find a way to reprogram the PCM to get what you want. ie: chip or reflash. Sorry if this is not the response you hoped for, but I hope this helps some.

ther is a spout plug looking connector in the harness that when removed pulls 3 degrees of timing out (it is for places that have REALLY crappy gas) you will need to find it in the harness and it should be taped up inside.
it is common on EDIS vehicles
you are welcome:2up:

Not having an Exploder in front of me, I'm looking at a couple sources for wiring diagrams and cannot find your plug. Do you know what terminal of what connector the wire goes to? Or at least the wire color? Just trying to learn for when I get one in.
Thanks,

The plug was available on vehicles up to 98 or so and then it was removed. The tables are still available in the computer, but requires the dealer to change a setting in the computer for it to be used.
The only other ways to change the timing are with an adjustable timing pickup (allows you to manually adjust the crank position sensor ie. base timing) or a chip/flasher.

Could ya'll at Supertune flash it or have a set up where I can switch back and forth??
