here is a time slip with the 273 gears...

two passes to night with 373 gears.
right lane - left lane
1st - 2nd

60' ... 2.250 - 2.250
330 ... 6.266 - 6.240
1/8 ... 9.593 - 9.572
mhp ... 74.12 - 74.22
1000 ... 12.460 - 12.433
1/4 ... 14.886 - 14.883
mph ... 93.06 - 91.24

cant see much difference. 60' got better but not much else.

frist pass i shifted in to 4th
and the second pass i stayed in third at the end.

How are you launching? Are you smoking the tires first?

Your car is not breathing up high in the rpms and now since you have steeper gears, your car is spending more time where the car cannot breathe.

I can understand if you run slower because of wheel spin but your mph went down..... that means your car needs a PI Intake. NPI engines weak link is not the heads, it is the intake :2up:

will a pi intake go on non pi heads? and which intake gasketdo i use, non pi or PI.? cause i have every thing.just need to know.

since i got car on the dyno and found my power range i went to the track tonight and got a new best time. i dont think it is to bad. every thing is the same. nothing has ben done to the car.

Sounds like you're are turning it too many rpm's, AND you need some drag radials desperately!!!


You should be well into 4th gear with a 3.73
