Yep, it's still 2005 and I'm already gearing up for 2006. Here's the 2006 Hallett High Speed Touring schedule.
It'd be great if we could plan a weekend where several of us could make it down together. Hallett is a very fun track if youve never been with alot of elevation changes and I think nearly every corner there is a late apex off camber turn.

Halletts website has a "hotlap" video, shot in car from one of the instructors driving a spec racer ford. For perspective a spec racer ford will make a lap of Hallett 4 or 5 seconds faster than my ITE class mustang. If you've never driven Hallett you should virtually drive this track as much as you can, believe me it will help. This is absolutely one of the best road courses in the midwest.

How far is Hallett from Kansas City? I am thinking about joining the COMMA membership there where it allows me to "run what you brung" on certain weekends starting in March of 06 and ends Oct, which is a long season.

About a two hour tow from K.C. The comma is a very good deal, lotta track time for the money. Hallett is known for being the least expensive road course in the region but THE best place to learn the ropes. The Stephens Brothers School that is held there is one of the schools I took to get my license, might be something that would put you light years ahead now that you have the saleen!
If you stay down there overnight get with me or Anthony, not much to choose from down there, think depression era.

Just did a mapquest from my house in Overland Park,KS to the Hallett track. Total miles is 321 and the estimated time they have is 4 hours and 45 minutes. Its right outside of Stillwater, OK. I am pretty sure I am going to join the COMMA membership. Once I get my trailer this spring, i'll be doing some weekend trips.

LOL!!! This last time down at Hallett, Kristin and I stayed in a Motel in Cleveland. It was too cold to camp out. Plus, I hauled everything in the car so I couldnt have fit an extra pair of socks in the trunk let alone a tent.
Kristin loved the place :puke2: our room had a futon with a pink fitted sheet and three or four lamps in the room none of which matched.
Honestly, it wasnt that bad. The hotel is the first hotel on your left as you come into Cleveland. Ask for a room along the back, our room was out to the left of the check in office and there's a road right behind it, with f'''ing cars going by all night waking us up. :censored: Hallett's even better, nothing there but a gas station, that doesnt even have 91 oct. So you'll have to make the trek to cleveland 11 miles away or buy gas at the track $$$.
Yeah lemme know when youre going down, I might be interested in going also. Im going to attend the Stephens School someday....
