If you want to avoid issues and gear whine, I suggest having it done by someone that knows what they are doing.
I had Yancy do mine on my 95 GT a few years ago and I think he charged $150 for it.

I'm not a mechanic, but I play one on TV. I've only done one set so far and they came out fine. I just reused the shims from the old setup and checked the backlash with a magnetic base dial.

Yea dude it is pretty tricky and its not something u want to mess up. U can find places around town to do it pretty cheap. U have the gears?

Here's a tip, if it's an IRS car, take the diff housing out then take it to a dealer so you don't have to pay $150 worth of labor.. Replace all shims and bearings wile you're at it if you can afford it and put in top quality lube like Royal Purple or Amsoil.. Changing anything in a differential is one of the those things you'd really rather only do once..

No i don't have the gears just yet, i am just now looking in to it. I was hoping that someone had done it over here but i guess it is not for todays gear head to do in the garage? I just thought there was more people who worked on thier own cars but the tools are to costly.

I can only speak for myself here, but I do everything on my car that I am capable of. Things like differentials need to have a professional touch because if you screw it up, you'll end up with a chewed up rear end in under 100 miles.. There are very few things I won't do myself, but diffs, alignment and brakes I usually leave to the ASE certified guys..
