MUSTANGSUNLIMITED.COM....

I have ordered multiple parts from this online service. On the high note they have delivered parts in a timely manner. I ordered a set of Roush chrome logo valve cover plates. Unfortunately they don't bother to email you that they are on back order. However, I did order them along with some other items and you can check the progress of the order online. I was able to see that they filled the order with the products they had available and to their credit they proceeded to ship them to you without waiting on backorder products. You just have to call to find out why a back order product has not been shipped. The products that did arrive came with instructions for install and overall pleased with their delivery.

The biggest knock against them is the products they are willing to sell. I ordered a rear window louver kit (part #5015 01) advertised on their website as "rattle free". $240.0 plus shipping. Not so. It comes in two pieces with mounting brackets that are cheesy at best. The louvers come with a black satin finish and it is so frail that if you look at them cross-eyed they are pocked with scratches. I took it to Weavers Auto Body and Fox Collision to have them repainted and they both told me they would not touch them. Said that any body shop willing to repaint them is just taking your money. After months of trying to salvage this retro look I finally cut my losses and now I have a $300.00 decoration hanging on my garage wall.

Rating for Mustangs Unlimited.com for online professionalism: 6 out of 10

Guru, hey I finally found the best way to go. Just order it locally and let them deal with the distributors. I ordered a steeda race wing from supertune. It arrived sooner than I expected, close to where I work, and it fits perfect. Picked up there yesterday and met Mike. Plan to have it sprayed shortly. Also got the chrome winglets with it, looks sharp. A pleasant transaction all around thanks to Mike.

I've had similar experiences at other places:
National Parts Depot: I ordered a Rear Window Louver Kit (#44268-3B), cost just under $400, but they look and fit great! The shifter boots (#7277-2A) arrived full of holes, and the cheap Rear View Mirrors (#17700-7) break on cold winter nights. To their credit, they will return a bad item as long as it's within 6 months (so I had to eat the cost on one of those mirrors!)
Missouri Mustang in Webb City: I personally had bad experiences there, including incorrect orders, wrong parts arriving, wrong quantities, and incorrect billing. I’m not saying to avoid it, but if you go, just be knowledgeable about what you're buying and what it's worth and pay attention.
Then I moved to KC, and haven't been to Mustang Plus yet. Any thoughts?

Boss 357,

Thanks for passing on info. Like any hobby, customizing stangs is a buyer beware path. I have been to Mustangs Plus a few times and was overall satisfied with their professionalism. They happened to have the item I was looking for, and Joe the owner is a great guy. I asked him if I could do a pre-fit before buying, told him I would leave my visa number, he said no need. Let me walk out with the product to see how they fit, came back and purchased them.

What I liked about Joe is he is excited to talk about mustang anything. Shame it's in a poor part of town, if he had that shop on metcalf he would be a KC Bazillionaire.

Tom, 98ponyguy is now banned so I wouldn't worry about him any more... We don't need people like that giving our website a blackeye.

And I like the way your Mustang looks.

Thanks Kyle, to be brutally honest I went overboard on dressup and have stripped the car and engine down quite a bit the last few weeks for a cleaner stance. Mostly the cheap crap like plastic decal trim, excessive grills, engine junk, etc. Have a list of Steeda parts I plan to order from Mike/Supertune.

I originally posted 98pg an apology, then realized I really didn't owe him one, so retracted it.

I live in Joco, and there are houses ranging from 120k to 10 million. I wouldn't say Johnson County are yuppies. Joco does offer a fairly safe place to live, tons of parks and recreational areas and good schools. Someone needs to do their research.

Yeah, it's supposed to be. I live in OP and some POS broke into my place last year. But yeah, there are a lot of pariks and trails.
