Track Guys Fall Thunder at Hallett!

Sponsored By:

SVTOA

Registration is open for the Track Guys Fall Thunder Performance
Driving Clinic at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, west of Tulsa, OK.

The dates for this event are October 10-12. Cost is $240 for the full weekend, which includes dinner at the track on Saturday evening.

Track Guys' emphasis is on learning. If you have never driven your car on track before, then we will provide you with an in car instructor and class room time to help you learn how to get the most out of your car, at your own level. This allows you to learn at your own pace and speed.

Experienced track veteran? No worries dawg - we also provide plenty of seat time for the Advanced and Intermediate level drivers, too.

Track Guys was formed in 2001 to conduct performance driving
clinics, and was contracted by Ford SVT to develop the the SVTOA On Track program. To date, Track Guys has conducted more than 60 events across the US and Canada and this will be the fourth Track Guys event at Hallett.

Hallett Motor Racing Circuit is a 1.8 mile, 10 turn Road Racing course in the
rolling Osage Hills of North Eastern Oklahoma. It is located 35 miles west of
Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the Highway 99 exit of the Cimarron Turnpike. Hallett has over 80 feet of elevation change and is considered Technically Difficult. It has wide, grassy run-off areas and zero concrete or Armco barriers. Hallett is unique in that it can be run in either clockwise or counter-clockwise directions ¬ making it two completely different race courses. Go to www.hallettracing.net/ for more information about the track.

This event is open to all makes and models of cars. Sorry, no 4x4s or SUVs.:screwy:

Space is limited and this event will sell out fast.

Go to www.svtoa.motorsportreg.com to register on line.

If you have any questions, contact event master Dell Hughes at dellcobra@yahoo.com or drop me a line at Stanger58@aol.com .

See You On Track at Hallett! :banana_dance:

Since I sold my daily driver, I'm taking it easy on the black car. Next year I will be going to more things like this (my brother-in-law goes to Tulsa every year for the Shelby show).
I appreciate you keeping us informed. It has my interest definitely.

..its not just for shelbys, its for all types of mustangs and ford powered, pretty open environment although the old mustang and shelby owners do think they are in the upper hierarchy LOL

I spent 5 days down there this year and had a blast. Anyone who has the chance should head down there. Every june in tulsa.

OK, here are some on-track action shots you don't see every day...the debut of ol' black 108 at Hallett...

I drove the car round trip (Olathe, KS to Hallett, OK), drove it on the track HARD for two day (more than 150 on-track miles) and had a BLAST seeing just how hard I could get her around the track! Keep in mind, all I've done to the car since purchasing it has been to check all fluids, tires and brake pads. The tires are old, the traction lock doesn't and I discovered a small crack in the radiator's plastic tank. Other than that, I drove the snot out of her and provided lots of on-track entertainment for our students and instructors alike. :screwy:

I saw him, so I figured, "why not give him something to see THROUGH!"

I was just telling somebody about the my times at Bondurant when their instructor cars were black crown vics (and badass ones at that)...you'd crest a hill flat out only to see a black crown vic sitting off the track and it would take all your human speeder power not to lift thinking it was a cop, whether it was your 1st lap or your 100th

Hey Jeff-
That looks like a real hoot to drive. You didn't retire the mustang did you?

Stanger58
October 24th, 2008, 12:28 PM
No, I haven't retired the Mustang...it is awaiting a 383 windsor, Tremec TKO-II, Agent 47 SLA and Willwood brake installations...

Meanwhile, the BLACK car serves when it's too cold/wet/snowy to ride the motorcycle to work...and when I want to give "cop car" rides on track... :banana_dance:
