Scott what is your strategy for the season? Which car will you be campaigning? If you have in car video whats the chance of emailing me a hot lap from the new HPT?

Dave,
Absolutely, SCCA puts on top notch PDE's with great instructors. My first event was a SCCA PDE at Hallett. Dont hesistate the event is limited to 60 cars.

Hope to see you both there April 1-2.

Jed, i will be running the 2000 R. Charlie and the guys put the roll cage in for me and they did a great job. i dont know if i will need to do the 2 schools or not. Guess i will find out more after April 1 and 2. I feel uncomfortable with the rolling start as i have never done one before. i would like to do the race weekend at MAM late in April. I think my plan will be to do races at Hallett, MAM and HPT. We will see how it goes. I do not have in car camera. We are headed to HPT with the KCBMW club later this month. It will be good to run the track before the school weekend. Keep safe, G0D bless you and all the guys there. Scott

Just click on the on track video, turn up the speakers and enjoy. I've made it a habit to watch a tracks on track video alot the week before I go out. If you watch it with the track map and memorize the corners it'll really quicken your learning curve. The next step is to walk the track the night before - preferably without the case of beer that Anthony and I usually have when we walk Hallett. In October this track will be home to the SCCA Runoffs, the yearly championship so there will be alot of interest in Heartland Park this year.

Take lots of pictures!

LOL, Once I get good enough, I'll be that mustang guy at the BMW events that whoops up on them and they hate me for it!! Will be a long time though, have tons to learn. I figure between the rained out events and my erratic work schedule, I have to join many clubs at many tracks in order to get some track time this year. Looking forward to seeing you on the courses!!

So how was it? Lets see some pictures and lap times! Anthony must have done some incredible driving to post a 1:44:313 in a pig heavy cobra with a full interior. Thats two seconds off A sedan mustang times from last year, those are fully prepped race cars. Let the smack talk begin....

Thanks Donna, sorry no video, I dont have a mount in my car and the battery turned out to be no good in our video camera and it shut off after a few minutes of filming on saturday. It was alot of fun, track was dirty but its very smooth and very fast. I just regret not getting to run the carousel. Kristin and I walked out there to look at it and alll I can say is WOW :woohoo: slight down hill entrance with a smooth transition to a nice positive camber bank. It looks like you could really pick up some speed coming around it. I also wore out the V710s this weekend, theyre down past the tread markers and very few of the depth marks left visible.
I got heel toe downshifting figured out pretty well, just need some shoes that I can better feel the brake pedal through so I can tell where my foot is at on it and began to practice trail braking also. The run off areas are a mess as of right now with no grass growing yet, it was dirt on saturday and mud on sunday. Regardless, its a great track and I cant wait to get back.

:rrsmileys: What did they do with alpha zero? Did they knock it down any?I just need some shoes that I can better feel the brake pedal through so I can tell where my foot is at on it and began to practice trail braking Time to get you some race shoes, son. Or some Chuck Taylor-type shoes, but racing shoes are your friend.

BTW, ask MFE and Jed: the ladies like 'em too. :2up:

Yes, alpha zero is much more manageable than before. It's much smoother and cars dont get unsettled going over it like they did last year. I would keep the car near redline going over it in fourth gear, no worries

I need to order some driving shoes from Summit, I've just been saving as much money as I can or atleast not spending it if I dont have to. Cant say I've gotten much saved as of yet. haha

****! That was my favorite part of the course. I can see why they cut it down, but I can't help but be disappointed. The first time I was out there, I was getting ready for my second run and the instructor told me that he wasn't going to ride with me if I was going to take that as fast as I did the first time. Seems he didn't like the ceiling when I crested it or the three or four chirps the tires made afterwards as it settled. :D
