On the right side of my Lightning the A/C hose where you charge the system i found out tonight had been rubbing on the splash shield and rubbed thru the hose and now i need to replace it. any good place that can fix it would be nice to know. Or Should i take it to the dealership and have them take care of it. i've taken my other ford there in the past. any help would be great!

I would check with your local parts store to see if they can get the hose for you. If they can I would replace it myself then take it in to have it refilled.

yeah i went to get a quote from warrensburg ford for the heck of it and it would be $380 plus tax... that is about what i figured. the hose does not seem that hard to remove/replace, but i have been wrong in the past. my dad was saying just to take it to have it fixed that way if something went wrong i know it would not have been my fault. I was told it is the condenser hose. I just know that it is the upper hose where you charge the system. thanks for your help

i called Meineke for a quote for the hose replacement. i was quoted about $225-250, which was a lot less than the dealership. Just wanted to ask if i could buy the part then take it to have it installed and serviced and have a guarantee with it? The shop has the part but i figure it would be a little less expensive if i already had the part for them to install.

Most shops wont guarantee a part they dont supply.
