View Full Version : Need a measurement

What is the width of an 8.8" axle assembly for a Fox chassis Mustang? I'd prefer a hub to hub measurement, but if I can get drum to drum that will work as well. I need to mock mine up to check for clearance. I'm sure someone has one sitting around that they can get a measurement from.
Thanks!

Nobody has an 8.8 sitting around they can get a measurement off of?

I would but my axle is longer then yours due to the different years 99 and up is a little longer and also my mustang is in the shop. So I don't have access to it until this weekend, if no one can get you a measurement by then I'll get you one from mine and just subtract a little off the top.

Thanks Kyle! Don't worry about subtracting anything, I'll calculate that (then it's my fault if it's wrong.) With any luck someone will come through before then and you won't have to measure for me.

Kyle I think the 99+ is 1/4" wider than the rest of them.

I think I'm good on this and don't actually need the measurement. I was concerned that the tire and wheel would clear the traction bar, but after putting mocking up the axle, rotor, and wheel and moving it in far enough that the rotor was actually touching the brake bracket, there was still over a half inch clearance, so I think I'm good. If the wheel ever goes in that far I think traction bar clearance will be the least of my problems :)
