I know that is a mustang forum and all but i am thinkin about buying a '96jeep cheerokee LTD,(winter ride/beater)needs new tanny,hail damage on hood, just wanted to know how much a "new tranny" runs. the sellers "say" they know someone who has one for sale for $350. wanted ya'lls input. they are asking $1800 OBO:shrug: thanks guys....and ladies.

I dunno, I personally know jeeps are notorious for being in the shop. The newer ones that is. A buddy of mine works at a show that see's tons and tons of newer model cherokee's and grand cherokees. I guess if if you are getting it cheap enough then it might be ok, but... I personally think you might be able to find another beater/winter car that *may* not give you the hassle in the long run. You never know though. I am basically going off what I have seen/heard in the past.
