Welp i broke down and bought a helmet so now i can go to the track for the first time ever. I only have one slight problem....i have no clue what to do or where to go when i get there. I've accepted the fact im going to look like a fool my first time up so to lessen the embarrasment If i could convince someone to give me a nice little walkthru/faq on what to do/what to expect/what to bring id greatly appreciate it.
:thx:

I am at the track just about every grudge night! For the most part, I may only make 1 or 2 passes and spend the rest of the night helping everyone else! Just post up when you wanna go!! Hell, I spend more time on the starting line and burnout box then the starter does! :smilielol: :smilielol:
Oh, you do need to be warned! Racing is addictive and you will have alot of addrenaline rushes and want to do it all the time! :2up:
lol yes, go up there and ask kinger for help. The night i went up there, he pointed me in the right direction of wher to line up so you have the best launch and also, (depending on what tires you have) lighten up the air. And be prepared that it gets hot with that helmet on, and it sucks because your vision is more limited. Um, and bring some ice to cool off your car in between runs if you'd like.

Just post up when you're going to the track. I could sit here and type for an hour, but experience supported with a little direction is the best way to learn. I'm sure one of us would be more than happy to help you out, just let us know when!

I was thinking maybe this wednesday?
My questions are all noob questions - for instance - what time should i get there? where do i go when i get there? Do i just jump right in line or is there a certain place i should be?
If i air down my drag radials is there a place to air them back up?
When i get to the end of the strip is there room to slow down normal or do i have to jam the brakes on? Just basic questions like that lol

Gates open at 5:30, racing starts at 6:00.
Lanes 1-4 are for grudge racing. They will announce this several times
Drop that air pressure down anywhere from 14-18psi, and they do have an air compresser for you to use when your ready to leave! If not, I have one!
Your probably gonna go through the traps at anywhere from 105 to 112mph, so with those big-ass Cobra brakes, just braking normal should put you getting off at the second return road, but if not, you can get off on the last one!
Since you have never been, just watch a few cars go before you and that pretty much gives you an idea of what to do. Seriously, I'll come down Wednesday night and help ya out if your gonna come down!

Welp i had my first experience at the track and i must say...thats fun as hell.
Met kinger and perdieu there and i must say very nice and helpful guys showed me the ropes and gave me lots of tips.
My best run of the night 13.08 @110mph
terrible r/t & 60'
I discovered theres a huge difference in 'knowing' what to do and actually having done it. Its alot harder to do correct than i thought lol.
But all in all very fun time

Hey, Look at it this way! At 11.70's I only go through anywhere from 116-118mph, so your gettin there!! I just wish I knew more about IRS to tell ya how much to push those half shafts??? Some people can just take it to 6,000rpm's and dump the clutch with no problems, and yet some people can leave at idle and shell the rear end???
Keep at it, that car has got a whole lot more in it!!! :hail: :hail:

Congrats! I was at Supertune last night with Eric, but glad to hear you met up with Kinger and Perdieu. You got some first class assistance right there. Great job!
