Guys Im looking at a great deal on a paxton sn2000. From what Ive gathered its a decent street blower if Im only looking for 6-8psi which is right what I want. Is this thing a belt drive blower or what? I havnt really heard of it before, but gathered that its an older blower... thats about all though. Also, if Im looking to see around 375-400 at the wheels, Im assuming Ill need some injectors. That being said, I already have a 75mm pro-m maf calibrated for the stock 24#ers. Can that maf be reprogrammed? Will I be pegging that maf? Should I look for something bigger like a 90mm LMAF or something like that?
Any help you can offer would be great... Im about 2 days away from buying this thing so I need some info.

Your gonna need the 90mm if your gonna be anywhere over about 370rwhp! Your also gonna need at least some 39# injectors! Also, your stock fuel pump is too small, if you can find a fuel pump off an 05 or newer, those will work also, or get a 255 pump! And without a doubt, get some DR's so you don't blow that thing up!! hehe

The guys kit comes with 36# injectors along with a 75mm pro-m maf to go with them... Ill probably end up upgrading the maf to something bigger than that, but itll hold me over for a little while until I actually install the blower (im trading him my maf and injectors for his). I plan to get a 255lph fuel pump, so no fear with that. Besides that, the only thing ill need to save for before i put the thing on is a tune... that way i can bolt it on, take it to supertune, then have some fun!!

Sounds good. Joe may be able to tune that MAF so it will work, but if not, at most the 90mm will only run you another $100! Good luck on the deal, hope it all works!!!!:2up:

That blower isn't able to make more than 5-6lbs of boost reliably. Depending on how much you are paying for it, you may want to wait and get an S-trim instead.

I agree with Joe on this one Mike, an Vortech S-trim would be better suited for what your looking for on a daily drive, but that's just my opinion.

Maybe someday something like that will be something I can get... but right now this sort of deal is what Im lookin for. Just an entry level blower thats easy to put on, and wont be too expensive. Id love a vortech, but this things under 1200 bucks... Ive been lookin for blowers for about 3 months now and vortechs are usually around the 16-1700 dollar range.

You can get entry level Vortech s-trim kits for around $1200 used if you look around. I would recommend a Vortech s/sc/sq-trim or possibly a used a-trim, Paxton Novi1000, or a Procharger p1sc, in that order. Also you need to be very careful buying a used supercharger kit, because you will end up paying as much or more to get it installed if it is not 100% complete and made specifically for your car.

Another thing to consider is that the SN series of blowers are no longer serviced or supported by Paxton.

I was going to say I have seen Vortech systems complete "used" for just over a 1000 and up so I would be welling to bet you just need to keep looking a little longer and you'll fine "The Deal" your looking for in a S/C system that will fit your needs. Again Joe and I are not trying to stear you away from the deal your looking at now just trying to help guide you into a system that will fit your needs better that all.

If you are that strapped for cash to only be able to afford a $1200 or less supercharger, you should probably wait until you can also afford to replace the engine.

The superchargers are alot more reliable now and the tuning software is the best that it has ever been, but there are still things that can happen. You can get a tank of bad gas, fuel pump can go bad, injector sticks closed, ... I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy it, I am just saying that it may just be better to wait until you are a little better off financially before you install it. (ask Kyle how much fun it is to be without your car for a couple years)

Yeah I dont plan to install it for a little while after I get it anyway so I can get it tuned when I put it on. I definitely appreciate all your help.
