Anyone out there know how to figure out what my 1/4 mile times woulda been? I ran tonight here in Abilene,TX for the first time in my new car... not that excited but I'll get more practice. I'm not sure if my sig says it but i have an 02 GT w/ no mods other than supposed 3.55's(previous owner, a waste I know) and Nitto DR's. Track prep isn't much here in this small town but to stop delaying I'll put out my best 3 outta 5 runs.
60' 2.235 2.225 2.256
330 6.267 6.318 6.444
1/8th ET 9.561 9.648 9.779
1/8th MPH 75.28 74.52 73.84
I know I can get my 60' down w/ more practice and advice of course. I was trying to SlOWLY slip the clutch from around 2-4K just to see what worked best. Was varying my shift points from 52k to 56k to see what worked best as well, seemed to like the shifts in the middle of that. Well I had fun either way but want to improve, any ADVICE would be GREAT, and if possible I'd love to figure out what my 1/4 time(at least for the fastest run) would be.

I would say there isn't really much of a chance to convert that to the 1/4?? All cars difer, some have top end, some have low end, so without running a full pass, there isn't really much way to accuratly tell anything??
If that car is stock, with just the gears and some DR's, I would say mid 14's at best!! That is based solely on others on here and past expereince!!

yeah that makes sense, just didn't know if it was possible to get a round about idea of 1/4 mile times or not. Mid 14's though, that sucks balls! The car is capable of alot more, or is supposed to be, that means I suck ASS! I shoulda kept those runs to myself lol, that's embarrasing!
Please send your launching tips my way, and what are good shift points for a stock motor? I know practice makes perfect in just about anything, but I want to be doing my best w/ as much knowledge as possible. Also what is the easiest way to burnout in my 5spd, warming the tires was alot easier on the automatic FOX.

Actually, for a stock Mustang, that is about the normal ET, With some mods like exhaust and stuff, you can get down tomid 13's.
As far as launching goes, if your on 3.55 gears, you should beableto launch at around 4-5,000 and just dump the clutch, but with those Junkko's I mean Nitto's, your still gonna spin your ass off! If your rev limiter is at around 6,200, I would say shift at around 6,000! That way your gonna get the full potential of the gears!!

thanks for the tips kinger, I know the nittos have nothing on the MT's, but i wanted something w/ a little more life expectancy on a daily driver. I'll try getting out of the clutch faster next time. The track here is small so there is no way to avoid the water, so that sucks. And I'm having a hard time heating the tires w/out a line lock. I'm hoping to get down to 2.0, 60's. with practice. I thought avg stock times were low 14's? hopefully I can start modding here this winter.
